First stages of spectacular village take shape

Building has begun at Greenwich Gardens, Metlifecare’s newestNorth Shore retirement village in Unsworth Heights.

No detail has been spared in the planning of Greenwich Gardens village. The living options, the facilities, the landscaping, have all been meticulously designed to ensure residents enjoy one of the North Shore’s very finest retirement lifestyles. With consent now approved, the construction phase is underway.

The necessary earthworks have been completed, including the movement of 50,000 cubic metres of soil, some to the Waterview Tunnel Project. This has paved the way for construction to begin in late August.

Like many large projects, the village will grow in carefully planned stages with the first two stages to include 27 villas in two and three bedroom configurations.

“We expect our first group of residents to move into the village in the first half of 2015, with all 27 new villas to be completed by the end of June 2015,” says Peter Kerrigan, Metlifecare’s Development Manager.

Each home will be finished to the very highest standard. Engineered quartz benchtops, top quality fittings, decks, patios, modern open-plan spacious design and a secure internal garage come as standard. All features will fit inside a traditional rock-solid Kiwi construction approach that utilises brick and weatherboard.

Metlifecare has also enlisted a leading landscape architect to design a lush, colourful landscape that’s home to beautiful gardens and native birdlife. “Greenwich Gardens will stay true to its name. Residents really will enjoy a stunning setting. They’ll live amongst a variety of native and exotic plantings, plus they’ll enjoy instant access to the walking tracks that wind their way through the neighbouring reserves,” says Alan Edwards, Metlifecare CEO.

“Greenwich Gardens will be a great example of a masterplanned community – there’ll be a variety of top quality living options from the initial 2 and 3 bedroom villas, to 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments to serviced apartments and rest home and hospital level care,” he says.

Add in a fine location that’s just a few minutes from North Shore commercial centres such as Albany Mall, Wairau Park and Constellation Drive and you have a lifestyle that will be highly sought after. Indeed, even at this early stage demand is already high.

New villa floor plans are now available to view with prices starting from $580,000. To secure your retirement future in one of the North Shore’s finest villages, please call Michelle on 09 444 4011 or visit www.metlifecare.co.nz
