Springing into Community!
Well, spring is almost upon us and being my first winter back in NZ for a while, it was not nearly as bleak as I remember and even rather pleasant. I have been enjoying meeting local residents at past months’ Local Board Plan meetings and hearing their views. The community meetings on the Local Board Plan and Area Plan Submission saw 25+ people attend at Milford, approximately 10 in Sunnynook and a few people at each of the various times offered at Takapuna. I hope people submitted their views. We (my board and I) submitted to support local community-led initiatives and match-funding for volunteer hours in community determined projects and the provision of community spaces in Milford and Takapuna. I am looking forward to hearing about what will be adopted and supported in our ward.
Celebrate Takapuna – I am looking into the possibility of celebrating our diverse community in February and am looking for some keen people to assist. I am looking for people who may have event / sound / or performance experience to team with me on the day to coordinate songs, dance and performances of various ethnic descent.
If interested, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or call me on 486 2098.
