Art at Antidote
Whether you're a beginner or simply want to hone your skills as an artist, the new creative space at Antidote Cafe on Como Street, Takapuna is offering art classes with Robert Campion -a well established artist and advocate of the art community here on the North Shore.
Rob Campion, a passionate artist, has over 20 years' experience as both a master of his craft and as a tutor.
Robert attended the Whitecliffe College of Art and Design and finds inspiration from the Dutch painter - a master of his time - Johannes Vermeer. Rob enjoys seeing his depiction of warm sunlit interiors. "My style is realism," explains Rob. "My fundamental belief is to achieve the correct lighting in which a certain mood can be conveyed, and without it, a painting cannot succeed," he adds. Budding art enthusiasts can now explore their passion and take part in Rob's weekly classes at Antidote Cafe. Rob takes you through drawing, composition and colour mixing techniques to enable you to work on your own masterpiece - advocate and previous student, Chrissie Asher speaks highly of Rob and his skills. She said: “I have been involved in Rob's art classes for many years now and he is great...attentive to beginners and amazing with experienced students."
So join Rob, bring a friend or two and come along and get creative.
