BMW Evening:  A Hole in One
The March BMW evening was a brilliantly entertaining event, with the combination of New Zealand’s No.1 golfer Michael Hendry, Institute of Golf CEO Craig Dixon and Lydia Ko’s former coach Guy Wilson making for a fascinating panel discussion MC’d by the gregarious former rugby league star, turned TV presenter, Awen Guttenbeil.

The evening, hosted by Jerry Clayton BMW for TBBA members, began with Hawaiian hula dancers performing for guests in celebration of the draw of the House of Travel Takapuna and Hawaiian Airlines holiday giveaway.
The panel discussion followed, with stories including how Michael Hendry went from picking cherries, to becoming New Zealand’s No. 1 golfer; the moment Guy Wilson first realised Lydia Ko’s potential; and how The Institute of Golf are nurturing New Zealand’s future golfing talent.
Following the success of the event, TBBA members are already looking forward to the April BMW Evening where former SAS captain turned software entrepreneur Guy Haddleton will share his invaluable business insights.
Guy founded the US-based business forecasting software company, Adaytum, which he sold in 2003 for US$160 million. He also founded Anaplan, now one of San Francisco’s fastest growing software companies and was the IPO Director for Xero and Wynyard and co-founder of Auckland 2040. We are fortunate enough to have Guy working closely with ATEED (Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development) and the TBBA in developing Takapuna’s emerging tech hub, ‘Techapuna’.

Hawaiian Holiday Winner!
Congratulations to Jenny James who will soon be packing her bags for paradise, as the lucky winner of the House of Travel Takapuna and Hawaiian Airlines Hawaiian getaway for two. Jenny made the winning purchase at Shore Fit Clothing Alterations whilst shopping with her sister. She’s now cheekily considering taking her sister to Hawaii rather than her husband. Whoever she decides to take, Jenny will soon be enjoying the hospitality of the Vive Hotel Waikiki.
