Merry Christmas & Happy New Year… from all our Devonport Businesses!

As we head into this busy time of the year, we hope you get time to do the simple things like spend time with your families and enjoy other people’s company.

2014 will be another big year for Devonport with submissions required for the Auckland Council Unitary Plan and a new tourism initiative that has been funded by the Local Board. As well as this, we have a new library being built, the renovation to the wharf to be completed and the upgrade to
Marine Square.

We have spoken about our desire to form a BID (Business Improvement District) in the new year and are currently about halfway through the consultation process with business owners and landlords. The voting for this is early in the new year and we would hope that with a successful outcome, the new BID will come into effect in July and provide a new level of leadership in the community.
As an example of what you can expect, the Devonport Business Association is funding the current ‘Win a $1500 Travel voucher’ promotion. This is one of the many types of benefits that a BID will bring to enhance the business environment and reward local shoppers – we hope you enjoy the competition that is available in over 85 participating businesses.
