HEALTH & FITNESS: Pilates Unlimited
Pilates Unlimited - Supports Team New Zealand
It all started for Director of Pilates Unlimited Carole Fraser in 1995 in San Diego. “We wore our Team NZ Shirts, bought in NZ, which were the same as the team back then, and when we went out to a restaurant in our shirts we were charged half price because they thought we were part of the team!
Being there was so exciting especially when they won and the rest is history. I have the best of memories of 2000 in Auckland when Team NZ defended the Cup. So here’s to hosting the cup back in NZ,” says Carole.
The skipper of our first America’s Cup challenge was Chris Dickson at age 24 in Perth in 1986/87. Chris has an association with Pilates Unlimited as a client, whilst Chris has great strength, one of his priorities for Pilates is to increase flexibility. When he is not busy travelling, Chris has private lessons with instructor Ray Medemblik.
Emirates Team NZ wins Louis Vuitton
Clients Debbie Abernathy, Serena Turnock and instructors Laiza Lima & Carole Fraser (featured above) shared a toast on the winning of the Louis Vuitton Cup. Debbie and Serena have been loyal clients for close on 10 years coming twice per week as part of their busy lives. Serena was in San Francisco for the first week of the America’s Cup racing and was in the Golden Gate Yacht club when ETNZ won the 1st two races. Serena headed to the America’s Cup to support the team along with many clients from the studio. The studio has the live stream going at 8am and some 8am & 9am clients on race days have rescheduled their appointments for other days while all the racing is on! At the moment, the heart rate is up before you start your Pilates session!” says Carole.
Grant Dalton and Dean Barker
At a previous campaign promotion at Shore City – Carole was talking to Grant Dalton and Dean Barker who both signed a cap for her. Since the America’s Cup racing started, the cap has been on display at the studio to reinforce the support of the team.
As we all know, the whole of NZ is behind this campaign it has brought such excitement and camaraderie within the Pilates Unlimited Instructors and Clients at the studio.
“It’s great to be in an industry that promotes health and wellbeing. I will have to contact Grant to talk about Authentic Pilates once the team are back in NZ as part of their training!” Says Carole. “Everyone at the studio is very proud of our Team NZ! Welcome home boys!”
